Prayer Requests from Adoration

Here is a list of prayer requests from Kim Gringhuis on behalf of the Adoration directors. All of our directors are now back in Port-au-Prince, including Maia Joy! We praise God that after a time of separation, and stressful situations, our Adoration team is reunited and energized for serving the Lord in Haiti!

Please remember these prayer requests:

Food Distribution

  • We are thankful that we were able to establish a contact with a wholesale distributor here in Haiti, therefore allowing us to purchase food in bulk, at a reasonable price and support the economy all at the same time.
  • We have decided to provide food for several months, pray that families would be able to get “back on their feet” and be able to purchase their own food once again

Temporary facilities

  • We praise the Lord that He provided a temporary location for the school
  • We praise God for experienced builders who are willing to give of their time and expertise to assist us with the planning and building of the temporary structures
  • We pray for a smooth building progress so the school can open again in the near future and the students can once again have a place to study and learn

Teaching Staff

  • We praise the Lord that so many of our staff’s lives were saved during the earthquake, several have moved out to the provinces for the time being but will return when we re-open the school
  • In speaking with the teachers, they have several prayer requests:
    • Pray for health and safety of their families
    • Pray that they will grow closer to the Lord and seek to serve Him more and more
    • Pray for their continued health and wellbeing
  • Three staff members have gavin the following prayer requests:
    • Manman Manise: Pray that she would be able to fix her house, for her children to grow in the Lord, she thanks the Lord for all that He has done for her and thanks the supporters of Adoration for thinking of her
    • Alyn (Grade 5 Teacher): He asks for prayer for his health, that he would focus more and more on God, for the country of Haiti and for Adoration Christian Centre to be rebuilt.
    • Alix (Grade 3 teacher): Pray for his family, specifically his wife and children, pray that God provides protection for all Haitians, that the economy would improve and that he would serve God faithfully, he also gives thanks for all the people who have come to help Haiti with food etc.

Adoration staff

  • Pray for their families
  • Pray for them to have peace about their futures, they have lost another year of school, and they are concerned about what the future holds for them
  • Pray for them to heal from the trauma they have experienced, they were so busy after the quake helping others that they had little time to deal with what they were experiencing
  • Pray for unity and brotherly love; that they may build each other up in the Lord and continue to grow in Him, becoming strong Christian leaders in their communities

Directors

  • we praise the Lord for sparing our lives and continually leading and guiding us
  • We pray for much wisdom for the future as we continue to direct Adoration Christian Centre

Rainy season

  • there has been one storm already, and many more to come
  • Many are living in areas that will quickly flood when the heavy rains fall, with the floods will come disease, more destruction and possibly more lost lives
  • Pray that the government will quickly make a plan and begin to relocate families to safer locations

Cabaret

  • We are thankful for the connections we have made in Cabaret, we continue to work with them more and more, sharing resources and information
  • Pray that we can continue to work together in the future

Pastors and their homes

  • Pastor Charles and his wife lost their home in Port-au-Prince, due to theft and fire
  • Please pray for them as they deal with this loss in addition to all that they have been through already
