The CDIA Short Term Missions committee works to organize teams to travel to Haiti. These teams serve the Haitian community in various ways, whether in construction projects, medical clinics or by providing workshops. Each team will strive to meet the following goals as outlined by the Short Term Missions Committee:

To glorify God through serving others in Christ's name.

"If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."  ~ 1 Peter 4:11

To learn about and experience a different culture, poverty, and God's role for you within His kingdom.

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." ~ Colossians 3:17

In keeping with these goals teams travel to Haiti not only to fix things and provide medical care. The hope is that team members will be provided with a way to demonstrate a visible, tangible expression of their love for Christ to the Haitian people. Completing tasks in Haiti are simply a means to this end. Teams that travel to Haiti will have the opportunity to meet Haitian people and gain an understanding of their culture. Devotions and church are also an important aspect of each trip.

CDIA would like to acknowledge and thank the many people who have offered their assistance and let us know that they would like to go to Haiti to help. At this time due to security and resource concerns CDIA is not sure when the next trip will be, though we do know that we would like to send some teams in the future.
